Compare the whole journey, not only the first price you see.
Use a consistent comparison
Start with the same party size, occupancy and travel dates. Record the number of nights onboard and distinguish any hotel nights or land extensions. Note the currency and whether the quoted figure is per person or per cabin.
Accommodation and meals
Confirm the exact cabin category and which meals are provided on the first and last days. Check how drinks are described: a package may specify particular beverages, meal times or hours of service. Do not assume that an all-inclusive label covers every onboard purchase.
Visits and activities
List the excursions included in the fare, then identify optional activities you would want to add. For an expedition itinerary, check equipment and activity arrangements. An island or town on the itinerary is not a substitute for an explanation of what happens there.
Getting to the ship
Check flights, airport transfers, transport between a hotel and the pier, and any required pre-cruise stay. Review embarkation and disembarkation times before deciding whether an independently booked connection is practical.
Other amounts to identify
Ask about port or park charges, taxes, gratuities, connectivity, laundry and any stated supplements. Also identify the payment schedule and cancellation conditions applicable to your selected sailing.
